Visiting Cuauhtémoc

The word Cuauhtémoc (last emperor of the Tenochca race) comes from the Nahuatl language and it is formed by the words: Cuahtli, which means eagle and Témoc, which means to descend. Therefore the phrase means “Eagle that descends over its pray”

It is located to the northwest of Colima’s capital. Here, it is worth visiting the city of Cuauhtémoc in which you can appreciate the church and the main plaza. There are many country style restaurants, highly recommended to taste the typical dishes.

Among the museum selection, we invite you to visit the SUGAR CANE MUSEUM.

ZIP-LINE
Throw yourself through a 200 meters zip-line at the San Miguel Hill restaurant in the community of Ocotillo.

RURAL PHOTOGRAPY
We invite you to visit the rural part of the State. Visit the towns and communities of Quesería and Montitlán so you can appreciate the place’s traditions and culture.

Taste Cuahtémoc’s gastronomy.
The local birrierías (places where they serve the typical “birria”- stew made of goat meat in a chili sauce) and street kiosks are very visited, especially on weekends during the morning since they offer dishes like: birria and barbacoa (meat roasted in an oven dug in the earth), with hand made, warm tortillas.
